Art by Hoang Truc

This little Girl named Xiao Hu, it means "little fox" in English, a Treasure Keeper in Chinese tales (Vietnamese included).
A virgin (about 12-17 yearsold, I'm not sure) was bought by a rich family. She was buried alive with gold, money and something. When she died, her spirit become Treasure Keeper and protect those properties. If anyone want to take the treasure, they must have password to enter the catacomb and avoid the Keeper's curses.
I sketched some ideas about this character simulate to Japanese animation style.
Then the WIP's below.
1.Lineart
I used Photoshop CC for this drawing. These steps are the basic techniques that you can learn easily on many online tutorials.
First, lined from the pencil sketch, using the 50%grey background to comfort your eyes and adjust the color contrast well.

2. Base color
Fill shapes with favorite tones. Think about light direction to add shadow on the items (clothes, hair, skin...)
The shadow, better use Mutiply mode to keep the texture and pattern on the layer below.
I used red to bring Chinese atsmosphere and make some mysteries.

3. Background
A tombstone, yeah...I don't like horror things but in this circumstance, I must draw it.
After fill the base color, apply stone texture for surfaces, set the blend mode and opacity with your favorite.

Adding strokes on the floor, pay attention to the perspective (should make it in the sketch).
Covering shine and darkness to complete.
Done! (^O^)/
